Homemade Apple Sauce is one of the most popular of recent trending foods in the world. It’s easy, it is quick, it tastes delicious. It is appreciated by millions daily. They’re fine and they look fantastic. Homemade Apple Sauce is something that I’ve loved my entire life.

Bring to a simmer over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally. Making applesauce is about as easy as it gets. After all, you're simply heating apples until they're soft enough to mash. (Thirty minutes or less should do it.) Making your own also means you get to control and customize every ingredient — especially sugar — that goes into the mix. The ingredients needed to make Homemade Apple Sauce:
  1. Prepare 4-7 tart apples
  2. Make ready 1 c water
  3. Make ready 1/2 c sugar
  4. Prepare 1 cinnamon stick (or 1/2 - 1 tsp ground cinnamon)
  5. Get 1/2 tsp allspice
  6. Take 1 tsp vanilla extract

Quarter the apples and add them to your slow cooker or to a large-enough nonreactive saucepan. Cook, covered, until the apples are soft. In a saucepan, combine apples, water, sugar, and cinnamon. Allow to cool, then mash with a fork or potato masher.

Instructions to make Homemade Apple Sauce:
  1. Wash and peel skin from apples, and dice into small chunks.
  2. Place apple chunks into sauce pan, add water.
  3. Add spices and sugar, and stir together. *Spice and sugar amounts are approximate and to taste.
  4. Place cinnamon stick in center of apples. (If using ground cinnamon, mix in with other spices).
  5. Bring to simmer, and cook on low heat, stirring occasionally, for approximately 30 minutes, or until apples soften. Your house will smell delicious!
  6. When apples have softened (you want them mushy), remove cinnamon stick and drain excess liquid off. This makes excellent cider if you want to save it!
  7. Mash your apples! Use a fork or potato masher if you like it chunky, or use a blender if you like it smooth. Done!
  8. Apple sauce is great warm (we love ours with a dollop of whipped cream) or chilled. Delicious warm as a topping for ice cream!

In a saucepan, combine apples, water, sugar, and cinnamon. Allow to cool, then mash with a fork or potato masher. Directions Throw the apples, apple juice and lemon juice into a pan and bring it to the boil over medium-high heat. Cut each wedge crosswise in half; place in a large saucepan. Add the strips of lemon peel, the lemon juice or vinegar, cinnamon, sugar, water and salt. (You might want to start with half the sugar at this point and add more to taste later.) Combine all ingredients in a sauce pan and bring to a boil.
